PM ATTENDS VIET NAM BUSINESS FORUM 2018
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on December 4 is attending the Viet Nam Business Forum (VBF) 2018, which is themed “Sharing opportunities in the world of changing trade” in Ha Noi.
Number of re-operated firms up 30.9% in 11 months
The PM will deliver a speech at the event. The forum’s three sessions will focus discussions on resources for infrastructure investment, improving knowledge towards the modern industry, and removing barriers for enterprises.
Various presentations will be delivered by working groups on infrastructure, electricity and energy, capital market, banking, trade and investment, tax and customs, education, agriculture and tourism.
Representatives from the European Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (EuroCham), the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), the Korea Chamber of Business in Viet Nam (KorCham), the British Business Group Viet Nam and the Japan Business Association in Viet Nam (JBAV) will also address the event.
According to the report of the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, as many as 121,000 enterprises were established over the recent 11 months of 2018, up 4.5% against the same period last year while around 32,000 ones re-operated, up 30.9%.
Earlier on December 3, President and Chairman of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Vu Tien Loc and EuroCham Vice Chairman Tomaso Andreatta chaired a press conference on the organization of the forum.
Referring the business environment, Mr. Loc highly appraised the efforts of the Government in establishing a sustainable business environment, which encourages the spirit of business.
By 2019, the nation’s business environment will face huge changes, including the implementation of commitments in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) in early 2019 and the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement which is expected to be inked in mid-2019.
Viet Nam has made efforts to become the top Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) recipient in the upcoming time, he said, stressing the need to reform the institution and business environment.
At the VBF, representatives of foreign and domestic enterprises will make proposals on enhancing the improvement of the business environment and support for businesses.
The VBF has been an annual dialogue channel between the Government and business community over the recent two decades.
