CHARITABLE ART AUCTION - FROM SAIGON TO SAIGON
Artists for the Community – Online artwork auction to support poor neighborhoods severely affected by COVID-19
After over 9 weeks of operation, ‘From Saigon to Saigon’ has received generous support from donors across Vietnam and abroad. Nearly 6,000 gift packages have been delivered to the people of Saigon, carrying our wishes that the city would get well soon.
In our effort to continue aiding vulnerable neighborhoods, FSTS is fortunate enough to be accompanied by some very special benefactors. Artist Dao Anh Khanh, artist Pham To Chiem, and two young painters, Doan Nguyen Minh, and Doan Hieu Minh, have donated to FSTS four paintings that have never been revealed before. These artworks will be auctioned to provide emergency relief to low-income families who are severely affected by the pandemic.
All proceeds from the auction will be used to buy necessities for underprivileged city dwellers. As the city lockdown keeps getting extended, gift packages including groceries and basic medication will be sent to people in need, helping them make ends meet during the difficult days ahead.

Painter-Performer Dao Anh Khanh is often referred to by the Vietnamese press as an “art maniac”. He is famous for combining visual art, installation, physical performance, and music to create a fully "living" artwork. Having appeared twice in the New York Times, Dao Anh Khanh is one of the most successful contemporary artists in Vietnam.

He frequently works with lacquer and oil paint, with artworks having been displayed in many exhibitions – including one titled “Đối chọi” (Opposition) in 2011 and “Tứ diện cũ” (Four old faces) in 2018 in Ho Chi Minh city. However, he is known for his book and magazine illustrations, which demonstrate his view and responsibility as an artist facing social issues.

Ever since a very young age, siblings Nguyen Minh – Hieu Minh have had a passion for telling their stories with color. Between 2016 and 2020, they regularly participated in painting auctions for charity purposes.
