[01-09-09] Here below is the draft of the revised Labour Code - Version 2 (only available in Vietnamese), which we have received from MOLISA. It is planned that the Revised Labour Code will be submitted to the National Assembly for review in May 2010 and for approval in October 2010.

[21-08-09] Dear HKBAV Members : As you are aware, the Typhoon Morakot which hit Taiwan has caused flood, landslides, gusty winds and power outages recently. The Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Hochiminh has started a relief campaign in the communities to help victims hit by the worst typhoon in Taiwan in half a century.

[07.07.09] In May 31, the Vietnam’s Ministry of Health announced the first case of type A/ H1N1 influenza - “swine flu” found in Hochiminh City. Until the afternoon of July 6, Vietnam has detected totally 235 cases.

[22-06-09] The Hong Kong Immigration Department announced that with effect from July 1, 2009, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) passport holders may visit Russia visa-free for a stay of up to 14 days. Likewise, Russian nationals will also enjoy 14 days' visa-free access to Hong Kong.

[14-05-09] Dear Members of HKBAV : We are pleased to inform you that Hong Kong and the Mainland of China signed on 9 May Supplement VI to the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), further liberalising the services sectors on the Mainland to the benefit of Hong Kong Service Suppliers (HKSS), including foreign enterprises registered in Hong Kong and fulfilling the qualifying criteria of HKSS.

[03-03-09] The Government has submitted the Draft Amended Law on Intellectual Property [the Law is effective since 2006 ] to the Standing Committe of the National Assembly. The Draft Law is scheduled to be approved at the upcoming official NA's meeting session this May 2009.

[26-02-09] The Ministry of Information & Communication has opened an opportunity for public to review and comment on the version #23 Draft Law on Telecom. This draft will be submitted to the National Assembly for discussion and review at its official meeting session this May 2009 and going to be approved in October 2009.
