WAGE DISPUTES OVERHEATED
[31-08-2015] The rise in minimum wage may never have been as hot a topic as it is now. On August 25, 2015, the National Wages Council hosted a meeting to conclude the rise in minimum wage in 2016, but it wrapped up after four hours of hot debate without any agreement reached.
LABOR CONFEDERATION INSISTS ON 16.8% WAGE RISE

The reports by the HCM City Labor Force Forecasting and Marketing Information Center showed an increase in employment demand thanks to economic recovery.
WAGE RISE OF 17% PROPOSED
[17-07-2017] The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has proposed the National Wage Council consider increasing the region-based monthly minimum wage by VND350,000-550,000 next year, or 16.76%, on average.
LABOUR SHORTAGES HOLD BACK VIETNAMS LOGISTICS INDUSTRY
[19-05-2015] Thousands of logistics entrepreneurs are struggling with a serious shortage of employees since a rapid increase of services demands, the Viet Nam Logistics Institute (VNLI) has said. About 300,000 business entrepreneurs are involved in logistics services, providing jobs for nearly 1.5 million labourers across the country, of whom 40 per cent are from HCM City.
INSURANCE POLICIES FOR FOREIGN WORKERS
[10-04-2015] Foreign nationals working in Viet Nam can avail of several insurance schemes, in which the participation of the enterprises they work for has been made mandatory. Mandatory social insurance embodies plans for sickness, maternity, labour accidents, occupational disease, pension and survivorship allowance.
