Việt Nam’s aviation sector witnessed a strong recovery in the first half of 2025, with marked growth in both passenger and cargo transport, particularly in international markets, according to a recent report by the Civil Aviation Authority of Việt Nam. Total passenger volume across the sector reached 41.3 million during the six months, up 10 per cent year-on-year.

Vietnam’s logistics industry is estimated to be valued at $40-52 billion and is experiencing strong growth. However, the sector faces a series of challenges, including fragmented data, lack of transparency, and disjointed management systems, all leading to low operational efficiency and difficulties in ensuring service quality.

Foreigners residing in Việt Nam can apply for an account on the national identification app VNeID under a pilot programme starting July 1 this year, according to an officer from the Ministry of Public Security's National Data Centre.
