HCM CITY TARGETS USD700 MLN IN INVESTMENT IN IZS
[18-01-2015] HCM City is targeting to lure USD700 million of investment into its industrial zones and export processing zones in 2015, said the management board of the city’s Export Processing and Industrial Zone Authority (Hepza). According to the Head of Hepza Investment Management Office Tran Viet Ha, the zones attracted a total of USD752 million of investment in 2014, up 23 percent compared to 2013.
FOREIGN APPAREL FIRMS EXPAND PRODUCTION IN CITY
[16-01-2015] The HCMC government have licensed two foreign garment and textile firms to adjust up their investments to expand production and boost export. HCMC chairman Le Hoang Quan handed a certificate for capital increase to Worldon (Vietnam) Co. Ltd., which is invested by Gain Lucky Limited, which produces world-famous sportswear brands such as Nike, Adidas and Puma.

AMATA TO LAUNCH THREE PROJECTS IN DONG NAI
[14-01-2015] Thai industrial city developer Amata will invest in three new high-tech industrial park and urban development projects in the southern Dong Nai province, news website dddn.com.vn reported on January 13. Amata Viet Nam Public Limited will be the investor of a 753ha urban development project in the province's Tam An commune in Long Thanh district.

HONG KONG ADJUSTS TRAVEL ALERT FOR VIETNAM TO AMBER
[14-01-2015] In view of the latest situation of Vietnam, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today (January 13) adjusted the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for Vietnam from red to amber. A Government spokesman said, “Hong Kong residents who intend to visit the country or are already there should monitor the situation, exercise caution, attend to personal safety, and avoid protests and large gatherings of people.”
PREDICTED POSITIVE OUTLOOK FOR HCMC€™S RETAIL SECTOR
[13-01-2015] Following the relatively good figures in the fourth quarter of 2014, the retail market in Ho Chi Minh City is forecast to become better this year. VISA FEE FOR CRUISE PASSENGERS BACK TO US$5 PER PAX
[13-01-2015] International cruise passengers will pay a US$5 visa fee each, instead of a staggering US$45, when they go ashore for a local tour, according to new measures approved last week by the Prime Minister. The new measures come after the fresh immigration regulations, effective from January 1, provide complicated, time-consuming and costly immigration requirements for international tourists traveling to Vietnam by cruise ship who want to join overland tours when their ships call at a local port.
