GOV'T PROPOSES ESTABLISHMENT OF FREE TRADE ZONE IN HAI PHONG CITY
The Government has submitted a prosposal to establish a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in the northern port city of Hai Phong to the National Assembly.
If approved by the legislative body, the FTZ shall be allowed to pilot special mechanisms and policies to attract investment and spur exports and research and development activities.
The proposed FTZ would include several functional areas such as a production zone, a port and port logistics zone, a commercial and services zone, along with other types of functional zones in accordance with legal regulations.
The Government expects that the FTZ will inject new momentum for rapid and sustainable development of Hai Phong City.
Businesses operating in the FTZ may be entitled to various incentives in terms of adminstrative procedures, work permits, land access among others.

FLEXIBLE FISCAL POLICY HELPS DRIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH
Việt Nam’s fiscal policy has been implemented in a targeted expansionary manner since early 2026, helping maintain macroeconomic stability and supporting the country’s goal of achieving double-digit economic growth. According to the Ministry of Finance, State budget revenue in the first eight months of 2026 was estimated at VNĐ2.02 quadrillion (US$77.7 billion), equivalent to 80 per cent of the annual estimate and up 16 per cent year-on-year.
