HCMC – Ho Chi Minh City plans to simultaneously break ground on seven major infrastructure projects worth a combined VND380 trillion on the occasion of Vietnam’s Reunification Day (April 30). The projects are highly expected to unlock public investment and fuel economic growth.
To prepare for the simultaneous launch, relevant departments and authorities have worked to streamline administrative procedures while maintaining legal compliance, with the goal of meeting conditions for groundbreaking on the occasion of the national holiday.
The information was released at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term held on April 10.
The simultaneous launch of work on these huge projects highlights initial progress in leveraging special mechanisms under the National Assembly’s Resolution 260, enabling the city to better mobilize social resources and stimulate investment.
Among the projects, a political-administrative center and central square complex in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area marks the next step in developing a modern urban space, following the Rach Chiec Sports Complex. The project is expected to improve the efficiency of public administration and better serve residents and businesses in the eastern part of the city.
Notably, the Nha Rong Wharf–Khanh Hoi Riverside Park project has been identified as a key cultural and historical project. Following its groundbreaking, construction will be accelerated, with completion targeted for National Day on September 2, 2026.
