Meanwhile, November import turnover for agro-forestry-fishery goods was estimated at US$3.92 billion, down 3.2% from the previous month and 2.9% from a year earlier. Total imports for the January–November period were estimated at US$44.45 billion, up 10.1% year-on-year.
The sector posted a trade surplus of US$1.88 billion in November, 4.7% lower month-on-month but 43.3% higher than the same period last year. For the 11-month period, the trade surplus reached an estimated US$19.55 billion, a 19% year-on-year increase.
Key agricultural commodities continued their upward momentum, with coffee, fruits and vegetables, cashew nuts, and pepper all reporting strong export growth.
