AN EVENING TO EXHILARATE THE SENSES AT THE REVERIE SAIGON
On 13 December 2018, The Reverie Saigon is presenting ‘La Vie En Rose’, an evening featuring a stunning musical performance from renowned Hong Kong classical musicians, saxophonist Timothy Sun and pianist Jacqueline Leung, along with a special five-course menu with paired wines at Café Cardinal, the city’s premier French fine dining destination.
Sun and Leung have been performing together since 2001, and will perform a 45-minute set from their show ‘The Allure of the Tango’ starting at 7:30pm featuring French, South American and Chinese classics, and even a few festive Christmas tunes.
Sun is one of the most active saxophonists in Hong Kong and Macau, and has given recitals at such esteemed UK venues as St Martin-in-the-Fields, Wigmore Hall, Barbican Centre and Southwark Cathedral, and his performances have been broadcast on BBC radio.
Hong Kong-based Leung is constantly in demand as a concert pianist, masterclass teacher, workshop leader and adjudicator. Her recent engagements have taken her to festivals, concerto premieres, recitals and lecture tours in South and Central America, the USA, Europe and Southeast Asia.
While they are being serenaded, guests will be treated to the delights of Café Cardinal’s special five-course Festive Menu, complete with paired wines. This holiday feast includes delicacies such as millefeuille de foie gras, paired with Louis Roederer Brut Premier Champagne; scallop and shrimp ravioli, matched with Chateau Foncrose Sauvignon Blanc Semillon; and fillet de boeuf of USDA first choice beef, accompanied by Chateau Foncrose Cabernet Sauvignon; and a traditional ‘Noel Baba’ yule log dessert, served with coffee or tea.
Mr. Kai Speth, Vice President Operations and Business Performance of WMC Group, which operates The Reverie Saigon, said the visit by musicians as renowned and accomplished as Sun and Leung set a new ‘high water mark’ for special events hosted at the hotel. “We see as part of our mission here at The Reverie Saigon to continually offer guests experiences that engage all their senses, and the next occasion will certainly do that,” he said.
The musical ‘La Vie En Rose’ dinner is priced at 1,788,000++ per person or 2,888,000++ with paired wines. Seats are strictly limited, so advance booking is recommended. In addition, the first 30 guests to arrive for the evening will receive a voucher to the value of VND 1,000,000 to use at R&J Italian Lounge & Restaurant.
One of Southeast Asia’s most distinctive, all-day dining venues, Café Cardinal delivers stunning views of Saigon from level 6 of The Reverie Saigon and features decidedly French cuisine with deliberate detours into complementary Western and Asian cuisines.
