OVER TWO MILLION TOURISTS FLOCK TO HANOI FOR NATIONAL DAY HOLIDAY

Hanoi welcomed over two million visitors during the four-day National Day break, three times higher than a year earlier, with tourism revenue soaring 80% to VND4.5 trillion, official data showed. Of these, international arrivals exceeded 80,000, up 35% from the same holiday in 2024, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.

The resort property market is showing renewed vitality, with hotel occupancy and investment activity rising after the Government expanded its visa-waiver policy, according to industry insiders.Surveys by the VARS Institute of Real Estate Market Research and provincial Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism reveal four- and five-star hotel occupancy in Đà Nẵng, Nha Trang and Phú Quốc reaching between 70 and 90 per cent, with full bookings during holidays and festivals.

VISA EXEMPTION FOR SPECIAL-CATEGORY FOREIGNERS

The Government has decided to grant visa exemptions of up to five years to certain categories of foreigners, including experts, scientists, leaders of major corporations and enterprises, and guests of research institutes.

MEKONG DELTA SEES 17.6% RISE IN TOURIST ARRIVALS IN H1

Vietnam’s Mekong Delta saw more than 35.19 million tourist arrivals in the first six months of 2025, up 17.6% from a year earlier, according to the Mekong Delta Tourism Association. The figure includes over two million international visitors, surging 53.4% year-on-year. Domestic travelers accounted for around 33 million, up 16%.

HUE SEES TOURIST ARRIVALS SOARING IN FIRST FIVE MONTHS

The central city of Hue attracted more than 2.7 million visitors in the first five months of 2025, up 67% year-on-year, according to local tourism authorities. International arrivals reached nearly 1.1 million during the period. Tourism revenue was estimated at more than VND5 trillion, up 55% year-on-year, Hue Ngay Nay Online news website reported.

VIỆT NAM SEES ROBUST GROWTH IN AIR TRANSPORT MARKET OVER PAST DECADE

Việt Nam has seen strong growth in its air transport market over the past decade, jumping from the 11th largest air passenger market in the Asia-Pacific region in 2014 to the eighth largest in 2024, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA). It also registered the highest growth rate among the top 10 markets in the region at 121 per cent, driven by the country’s strong economic performance and growing appeal as a travel destination.

HCM CITY SEES SOLID SOCIO-ECONOMIC GROWTH IN APRIL

HCM City saw positive growth across many areas in April, especially tourism revenue, thanks to recent celebrations, according to a meeting to assess the city’s socio-economic achievements on Thursday. Lê Thị Huỳnh Mai, director of HCM City’s Department of Finance, said that the city’s retail sales and consumer service revenue in April increased by 20 per cent year-on-year.
