As you may know, the Draft Competition Law has been issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (“MoIT”) recently and is now under the commenting process. In that context, the Vietnam Competition Council (“MoIT”) conducts the survey to refer ideas/opinions from business community on evaluation on the implementation efficiency of the Competition Law in the last 10 years, difficulties in the compliance with the Law, and recommendations for further amendments and improvements.

The VBF Governance & Integrity Working Group completed successfully the Report of Study – Analysis of Corruption Risks for Investors in Vietnam. MOLISA PROPOSES RAISING RETIREMENT AGE
MoLISA proposed raising the retirement age by the maximum of five years. At the meeting on May 19, 2017 between the prime minister (PM)’s working group and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), Mai Tien Dung, chairman of the Government Office, said that the PM required MoLISA to explain several controversies in its proposal to raise the retirement age.
VINATEX FORECASTS 10% TEXTILE EXPORT GROWTH
The Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) has projected this year’s textile and garment exports would grow 10%, or by US$3 billion, against 2016.
VIETNAM TOURISM ASSOCIATION PROPOSES TO EXPAND VISA EXEMPTION PROGRAMME
The Vietnam Tourism Association has proposed to continue visa exemptions for Western European tourists to boost tourism. According to the Vietnam Tourism Association, in order to implement the government's resolution to turn tourism into Vietnam's key sector, visa exemptions should be continued for visitors from major tourist markets.
INTEREST RATE FOR SOCIAL HOUSING LOANS
The Việt Nam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) interest rate for social housing loans in 2017 will be 4.8 per cent per annum, or 0.4 per cent a month, according to a decision just signed by Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc.
