NEW POLICIES TAKE EFFECT THIS MONTH
[04-09-2016] A series of new policies are coming into effect this month, including regulations relating to foreign diplomats and policies to support poor students, raise awareness of legal assistance and tighten State control of chemical substances.
PHU QUOC EYES MORE INVESTMENT
[03-09-2016] Phu Quoc Island has so far attracted 244 projects worth VND314 trillion (US$14 billion), mostly in infrastructure, urban development, fisheries, tourism, trade and services. Twenty eight projects with an investment of VND35 trillion ($1.57 billion) are already operational while 22 others worth VND35.6 trillion are under construction.

FOREIGN DIPLOMATS IN VIETNAM NOW ELIGIBLE FOR FIVE-YEAR RESIDENCE CARDS
[31-08-2016] Temporary residence cards with validation periods of up to five years will now be granted to foreign diplomats living in Vietnam under a new ministerial circular set to take effect next month.
TEXTILE, GARMENT EXPORT TURNOVER INCREASE SLIGHTLY
[29-08-2016] The figure is much lower than previous years, the ministry said. Three major markets of Vietnam include the US, Japan and South Korea. The US topped US$6.52 billion, up 3.48 percent compared to the same period last year and accounting for 49.6 percent of the country’s total textile export turnover.

[29-08-2016] Actual foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into Vietnam reached an estimated $9.8 billion in the first eight months of this year, up 8.9 percent from a year ago, the Planning and Investment Ministry said.

HOME PRICES UP IN JULY
[31-08-2016] Home prices in Vietnam continued rising in July, according to a monthly report of the Vietnam Real Estate Association (VNREA) released last week. Price hikes were seen in almost all segments including apartment, townhouse, villa and land lot. Prices of mid- and hi-end apartments in finished projects picked up 4-6%.
