FOREIGN DIPLOMATS IN VIETNAM NOW ELIGIBLE FOR FIVE-YEAR RESIDENCE CARDS
[31-08-2016] Temporary residence cards with validation periods of up to five years will now be granted to foreign diplomats living in Vietnam under a new ministerial circular set to take effect next month.
TEXTILE, GARMENT EXPORT TURNOVER INCREASE SLIGHTLY

HOME PRICES UP IN JULY
[31-08-2016] Home prices in Vietnam continued rising in July, according to a monthly report of the Vietnam Real Estate Association (VNREA) released last week. Price hikes were seen in almost all segments including apartment, townhouse, villa and land lot. Prices of mid- and hi-end apartments in finished projects picked up 4-6%.
VIETNAM URGED TO INVEST IN ENERGY-SAVING TECH
[31-08-2016] Experts have called for Vietnam, businesses and building operators to invest in energy-saving technology as power demand is growing strongly. Electricity demand in Vietnam is projected to rise by at least 10% a year and increase to 615.2 billion kWh in 2030 from 169.8 billion kWh last year.
RULES FOR INSURANCE BUSINESSES IN VIET NAM
[25-08-2016] The Government has issued Decree No 73/2016/ND-CP on July 1, 2016 detailing the implementation of the Law on Insurance Business. The Decree regulates the establishment and operation of life insurance, non-life insurance, health insurance, reinsurance enterprises and foreign insurer branches.
MINISTRY TO TRANSFORM VN LOGISTICS
[28-08-2016] The industry and trade ministry is drafting an action plan for lowering logistics costs to touch 18 per cent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) by 2020. The costs for logistics currently are about 20 to 25 per cent of the GDP, compared with the average rates of seven to 10 per cent in developed countries.
