HONG KONG : ADJUSTMENT OF BOARDING AND QUARANTINE REQUIREMENTS FOR PERSONS ARRIVING FROM VIETNAM
In view of the persistent unstable epidemic situation in the region and the prevalent outbreaks of cases involving the more transmissible mutant virus strains, the Hong Kong SAR Government will specify a number of countries as high-risk Group B specified places and adopt tighter boarding and quarantine measures on arrivals from these places in order to minimise the risk of case importation.
With effect from June 4 (Friday), Vietnam will be categorised as one of the high-risk Group B places. Other newly added countries in the ASEAN region include Cambodia and Thailand.
You may wish to note the following requirements for Hong Kong residents to travel to Hong Kong from Vietnam under the latest arrangement:
* The traveller must have stayed in Vietnam on the day of boarding or 14 days prior to boarding;
* Present at boarding a negative result proof of a nucleic acid test for COVID-19 conducted within 72 hours before departure;
* Present confirmation of a room reservation in a designated quarantine hotel in Hong Kong;
* Subject to “test and hold” arrangement upon arrival at the airport and on confirmation of negative test results, proceed to board the designated transport to the designated quarantine hotels for compulsory quarantine;
* For fully vaccinated persons - subject to a 14-day compulsory quarantine at designated quarantine hotels with three tests to be conducted, followed by a seven-day self-monitoring period and compulsory testing on 16th and 19th day of arrival;
* For non-fully vaccinated persons – subject to a 21-day compulsory quarantine at designated hotels with four tests to be conducted.
