MORE THAN 43,300 NEW FIRMS SET UP SO FAR THIS YEAR
As many as 43,305 new enterprises with total registered capital of VND542.4 trillion (US$32.3 billion) were established in the first four months of 2019, up 4.9 per cent in number and 31.7 per cent in capital from the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
The average registered capital of a new firm was VND12.5 billion ($537.5 million), a rise of 25 per cent, reported the office.
The total number of employees working in the new companies was 440,100, a year-on-year increase of 35.2 per cent.
The new companies’ registered capital helped raise the total new investment poured into the economy in the period to VND1.41 trillion ($60.8 billion), which included VND872 trillion ($37.5 billion) added into operating companies.
Up to 17,463 companies resumed operations in the period, up 52.6 per cent against the same time last year.
