NEW REGULATIONS GOVERN GRANTING OF WORK PERMITS
[02-03-2016] Decree No 11/2016/ND-CP, dated February 3, 2016, which details the implementation of granting of work permits to foreign nationals working in Viet Nam, has replaced Decree No 102/2013/ND-CP.
CONTRACTS IN VIETNAM THAT DENOMINATE PAYMENT IN FOREIGN CURRENCY ARE VOID UNDER VIETNAMESE LAW
[07-03-2016] This means that parties to such contracts will have to be returned to their original positions as if the transactions have not occurred. The Foreign Exchange Ordinance of 2005 of Vietnam as amended in 2013 and the relevant guiding laws require all civil contracts in Vietnam that contain payment provisions to be denominated and paid in Vietnamese Dong (VND).
NEW POLICIES TAKE EFFECT IN MARCH

DELOITTE: NEW DECREE ON WORK PERMIT FOR THE FOREIGNERS
[01-03-2016] The Government issued Decree 11/2016/ND-CP dated 3 February 2016 stipulating regulations on Work Permit applications, which will take effect from 1 April 2016. Accordingly, these new regulations would have certain impacts on the future assessment of Work Permit application, Work Permit exemption and Work Permit de-registration.

NEW GUIDELINES ON ENTERPRISE REGISTRATION
[25-01-2016] As of December 1, 2015, the Ministry of Planning and Investment issued Circular 20/2015/TT-BKHDT (Circular 20) guiding Decree 78/2015/ND-CP on enterprise registration.
LEGAL DOCUMENTS ISSUED IN DECEMBER 2015
[20-01-2016] The Government and the PM issued 16 legal documents, including 11 Decrees and five Decisions in December 2015. Decree No. 131/2015/ND-CP provides guidance on national important projects based on regulations of the Public Investment Law and the Investment Law including the organization and activities of the state evaluation council for investment projects, procedures and contents and expenditures for evaluation of the national important projects.
