HANOI, HCMC DENY ENTRY TO OVER-NINE-SEATER VEHICLES
HCMC - Hanoi and HCMC today, March 30, began denying entry to vehicles with over nine seats until April 15 to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
According to an urgent dispatch sent by the Ministry of Transport to the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, the Vietnam Railway Authority and local Transport Departments, routes to or from Hanoi and HCMC with a distance of under 100 kilometers can be used for up to two trips per day. Other routes can only be used to make one trip per day.
Each vehicle is not allowed to carry more than 20 people or have more than 50% of its seats in use.
In addition, all localities were asked to minimize public transport. Vehicles used for healthcare purposes or goods transport are not affected.
Vietnam Railways and other railway companies were required to suspend rail transport. The Hanoi-HCMC route can be used for two trips per day.
Local maritime and waterway administrations should minimize trips from the mainland to islands and closely monitor sailors and passengers.
