HONG KONG’S TALENT LIST EXPANDED TO 51 PROFESSIONS TO ATTRACT HIGH-QUALITY TALENT
Greetings from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Singapore.
We are pleased to announce that the Government has expanded the Talent List, significantly increasing its coverage from 13 to 51 professions to attract more high-quality talent to Hong Kong and meet the city’s development needs. The expanded Talent List will apply immediately to the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme (QMAS) (bit.ly/3WgusaJ), General Employment Policy (GEP) (bit.ly/3InfGJP) and Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals (ASMTP) (bit.ly/3MicVdK). The 51 professions fall under 9 industry segments as follows:
• Business Support
• Creative Industries, Arts and Culture, Performing Arts
• Development and Construction
• Environmental Technology Services
• Financial Services
• Healthcare Services
• Innovation and Technology
• Legal and Dispute Resolution Services
• Maritime Services
You can find the detailed requirements of each profession here:
https://www.talentlist.gov.hk/en/talentlist.html
Under the QMAS, eligible applicants fulfilling the requirements of the respective profession on the Talent List will be awarded 30 bonus points under the General Points Test, significantly enhancing their chances of approval. For employers intending to recruit outside talents under the GEP and the ASMTP, they no longer need to prove difficulties in local recruitment, to fill vacancies falling under the professions on the List, thereby reducing their time to scout outside talent.
